L'oreal Infallible 24h Foundation Review

Hi there.

Today's post is a foundation review. I have been eyeing this baby for a while and when I ran out of one of my foundations I've decided to give it a go. I'm talking about L'oreal Infallible 24h foundation.

THE OUTSIDE
First, I think the packaging is nice. They did a good job on the bottom part, I like that heavy glassy feel, and I love that it has a pump, but I do not like the red top of the bottle. Obviously, that's not the most important thing in a foundation, I just thought I should mention it.

SHADES, SCENT
I couldn't find the exact information on the shade range, not even on their official site, but I'm guessing there are around 10-12 of them, which is okay. Although the struggle begins when you have to find your shade. I picked up 130 True Beige, because it was the lightest they had, and it is a bit too dark for me. Maybe it's going to work in the summer, but it's definitely not my perfect shade, I just couldn't find anything lighter in any of our stores. It does have a scent, but it doesn't bother me, because it's not that strong and once you've applied it, you can't really smell it that much.

LASTING POWER
The foundation claims to give you 24h flawless compexion and just applied finish, and obviously that is complete trash talk, no foundation lasts for 24 hours. I will say though, that on my skin (normal - oily) it does stay on pretty well, if the weather is normal it looks pretty good for about 6-7 hours and after 8 it starts cracking a little bit, but I think that's quite a good amount of time. If you add a longlasting primer, it does last even better. The problem with it is heat, at least on my skin, because it doesn't go well with sweat. Whenever I sweat, I get this white cast over those areas, which disappears after I've stopped sweating but obviously looks very attractive while I still am. That's one thing I hate about, the way it is on my skin in hot type of weather and how dewy/oily it tends to get in my T-zone when it's hot outside. So is it sweat-proof? Nope. Do I like it anyway? Yes.

FINISH
I like the finish it gives. I would say it is definitely medium to full coverage (for me it's more medium, but you can build it up a bit), so I find it good for different occasions. I prefer to wear it on the not-so-hot summery days because of what I said earlier and on those days, it looks really nice on the skin. I've started using a mattifying primer underneath it and that prevents the oily look on my T-zone on those hot days. It still is pretty dewy, so I do think I will enjoy it more in the winter, but I do get quite some use out of it. I've used a beauty blender and a brush to apply it and it works both ways. I normally use a brush, because I do it faster that way and I find that with the beauty blender you have to use a bit more of a product, but it does give a bit more of a natural finish. In this case, I don't think that little goes such a long way, I don't think you can do your whole face with just one pump, but again that depends on the desired coverage.

PRICE & CONCLUSION
For a drugstore foundation it is not so cheap, although it's not that extreme either, it's around 16€. I probably will repurchase it if I can find a lighter shade near me, because I do like it. It is not my favourite foundation, not at all, but I do think it's quite a good one. If you're extremely oily, I don't think you're going to like it, because you will look too greasy, but for my dry-ish girl out there, I think it would be nice. Maybe not in the winter, because it is not that dewy and maybe not if you're extremely dry, but for summer time, I think you should give it a go. I haven't seen any other reviews on this foundation regarding the sweat problem, so maybe that's just my skin.

Overall, I will give this foundation a 7/10, because it can look really lovely, but I also have some issues with it. Unfortunately, I can't compare it with true match, because I haven't used that one in over a year and don't really remember the formula that much.

I hope this was helpful!

Love always,

T.
