The lipstick colors"everyone should" own (pt.1)

Hi there.

First of all, let me just say that if you don't wear lipstick, that's fine. If you wear green lipstick, that's also fine. And if you feel like you don't need a nude lipstick in your collection, because you're never going to wear it, that's also fine. You do you and what you like.

So this post is not in anyway trying to make you go out and buy all types of shades. This post is only for those of you, who own a small lipstick collection and want to make it bigger, or those of you who have been saving up for your first lipstick, but are not really sure, which color is a must-have.

Keep in mind, this is my choice and it may not be for everyone. Also keep in mind, you don't need to get any of the lipsticks I mention. What I'm going to do is give you a theme (for example, nude) and then you can spice it up, make it softer, make it right for your skin tone, your occasion, your whatever. This is just a concept to help you out, so don't take it too seriously.

1. NUDE

I think this is the "second must-have" for girls who don't wear lipstick everyday and own just a few. A variety of nude colors is absolutely insane and although I am more into the bold colors than into the nude ones, I am obsessed with brown-ish nudes lately. Depending on personal preference, you can go for more of a pinky nude, brown nude, peachy nude ... whatever you like. Here are some of the examples.

If you're interested in a grey-ish nude, I found this great one at the drugstore. To tell you the truth, Essence has stepped up their game when it comes to lipsticks, some of the shades are gorgeous, especially if you're into pinks.

The shade I'm talking about is this one (on the left), which is an Essence lipstick in Come Naturaly. This one and Barely There have been my go-to shades!

2. RED

Red lipstick is probably the most owned lipstick in the world, it makes the girls feel sexy and out-going, it's an instant mood booster. Obviously, there are about a tone of shades of red lipstick and you chooce whatever you like, either that is a vampy color, a dark red, a pinky red, and orangy red ... Here are some of the examples. If you don't know what to choose, I suggest you go with a classic red that is not too orange but maybe aimed a bit towards pink. In the photo below, you probably think the shades are exactly the same, but I promise you, they are not, it just doesn't show up that well on the photo. I will explain everything in detail in a second.

From bottom up:

Max Factor lipstick in Ruby Tuesday (715), a great example of an pink based red, my absolute favorite red shade I own. Amazing color pay off, amazing lasting power. I might do a seperate post about it since it is affordable and so good.

Essence XXXL longlasting lipgloss MATT EFFECT, I couldn't find the shade on the web and mine has rubbed off, but I'm pretty sure it's the only red shade.

L'oreal Color Riche Lipstick in 377 Perfect Red is a true red without any pink undertone.

Makeup Revolution in Vice - obviously not a red, it's an orange that is VERY yellow based. I bought it for Halloween and I rarely ever wear it. It is a very unique shade with whom I'm only suggesting, you can still go for oranges if reds are not your thing. This one is a very unique one.
